As users increasingly demand more expedient options for keeping their mobile devices powered up, wireless charging capabilities are rapidly becoming a key product differentiator.
Wireless charging is still an emerging technology, and manufacturers struggle to understand how to comply with the requirements of the three major industry standards: Wireless Power Consortium (WPC), Power Matters Alliance (PMA) and the Association for Wireless Power (A4WP).
UL can help. We are, in collaboration with the industry, pioneering the advance of wireless charging technologies. We are active members of the standards development committees for WPC and the PMA as well as for the primary lab for PMA testing and an approved WPC lab. In addition, we can offer PMA certification testing in Taiwan and the U.S.
UL developed and published the now-established Standard (UL 2738) for inductive coupling technology testing. Our team members have deep expertise in the unique behavior of wireless charging devices, from handheld cases and stations to automotive units.
