On March 15, 2016, the UL Small Appliance team welcomed dozens of customers, industry partners and stakeholders to the grand opening of its newest Center of Excellence laboratory, located in the UL Research Triangle Park (RTP), North Carolina facility.
With the opening of this new facility, the UL Small Appliances group expands its already impressive laboratory operations worldwide, with a centralized North American location dedicated solely to Small Appliance product testing and certification.
A full schedule of activities greeted attendees, including scheduled tours, workshop presentations, and complimentary preliminary investigations and global market customer consultations, as well as raffles.
Two presentations focused on topics regularly requested by UL customers. The first, entitled “Global Market Access: Understanding The Regulatory Landscape of International Markets” provided an in-depth view of the daily challenges faced by product manufacturers as they look to expand their product reach across the globe.
The second presentation entitled “The WERCS: Navigating Supply Chain Compliance” focused on helping companies understand what supply chain compliance really means, and how UL tools, such as those offered by UL WERCS can help companies with chemical management documentation and retailer compliance.
The day’s events were topped off with an offsite industry event, where attendees enjoyed local UL hospitality and engaged in beneficial networking opportunities.
