The UL Torque Tester is designed to allow testing organizations to measure specific failures and establish standards for the safety of people who install and remove lamps.

The Torque Tester provides a breaking torque under two conditions. The first is measured during the failure of the lamp bulb wall in the event that, during installation, the lamp separates from the base, which can result in an implosion. The second condition occurs when the lamp base strips the threads of the socket, which results in improper lamp installation. Both conditions can cause injuries in the field. The torque tester allows both conditions to be measured safely within a laboratory without injuries.

The test station features a protective cover. The clear, heavy-duty test chamber allows visual inspection during the test and contains all broken glass and debris. The chamber also allows for high speed photography of the lamp if desired.
