UL’s Supply Chain Transparency Platform, powered by Good Guide, enables manufacturers and retailers to compile and analyze product and vendor performance across their supply chains with a focus on sustainability, responsible sourcing and regulatory compliance.
The platform provides tools for data collection, management, sharing and decision support. Suppliers contribute data about products and their company-level policies and practices to gain immediate, secure visibility by authorized retail customers. Purchasers can easily screen products or suppliers using customized criteria based on their sustainability policies.
Data about the chemical composition of products can be acquired from suppliers and compared against a wide variety of continuously updated regulatory and corporate standards regarding restricted chemical substances.
Product attributes and supplier performance relevant to corporate social responsibility initiatives, such as a product’s environmental impact or a supplier’s record on working conditions, can be monitored and compliance with corporate sustainability standards can be verified.
The decision support tools enable suppliers, retail buyers, product designers, risk managers and consumers to understand and act upon assessment data from the supply chain. A customizable performance assessment engine enables users to configure and calculate ratings of companies and products and to receive purchasing recommendations.
UL’s Supply Chain Transparency Platform is configurable to your needs. Initial integration includes customer-driven engineering, science and development support to ensure that data and weighting reflect unique criteria. Industry regulations are updated continuously to help mitigate risk and help achieve compliance. Updates are driven by manufacturers’ and retailers’ own criteria.
Retailers and suppliers have instant access to product data via web browsers, and mobile access (Android and iOS) will be launched soon. Custom views can be created to meet the functional needs of multiple users and use case scenarios. All product information is designed to be private and secure.
Basic platform pricing includes an annual license fee. Suppliers pay a fee for each listing on the platform.
