UL recently introduced Wellness Certification for products, the first certification program that verifies products’ compliance with the WELL Building Standard, a program advancing health and well being in buildings globally. Products that are UL Wellness Certified are evaluated for criteria including product emissions, ergonomics and chemical and material transparency. UL’s Wellness Certification requires each product to meet the applicable preconditions listed in the WELL Building Standard, and can evaluate additional optimizations as requested.
Additionally, GREENGUARD Certification was named by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), as an approved eco-label for government purchasers. Ninety-five percent of all federal purchasing must be environmentally preferable, and GREENGUARD Certified products help meet that criteria.
