UL SPOT Product Database is searchable by sustainable program credits and contains a certificate of compliance, streamlining the verification process and paperwork required for compliance with LEED, WELL, and other sustainable building programs.
Global programs such as LEED®, WELL Building, Green Star and the International Green Construction Code (IgCC) outline the types of testing and certification that products must undergo to qualify for use in sustainable buildings under their systems. Each certified product listing in SPOT Product Database contains a certificate of compliance, streamlining the verification process and paperwork required for compliance with LEED and other sustainable building programs.
Our GREENGUARD and ECOLOGO® Certifications are recognized, referenced or preferred by more than 900 federal purchasers, retailers, green building rating tools and building codes for a variety of products around the world. We also provide certification of Health Product Declarations and Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), which deliver additional transparency into products’ potential health and environmental impacts and are also required or encouraged by an increasing number of sustainable building specifications.
UL recently introduced Wellness Certification for products, the first certification program that helps demonstrate a product’s contribution to requirements in the WELL Building Standard, a program advancing health and well-being in buildings globally. Products that are UL Wellness Certified are evaluated for criteria including product emissions, ergonomics and chemical and material transparency. UL’s Wellness Certification requires each product to meet the applicable requirements listed in the WELL Building Standard, and can evaluate additional criteria as requested.
UL also offers advisory and continuing education training programs to help manufacturers, specifiers and purchasers better understand sustainability issues and green product specifications and maintain AIA, IIDA, ASID and LEED AP professional credentials.
