UL is proud to announce that a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Jakarta Fire and Rescue Department and the Fire and Rescue Foundation has been signed on October 23 in Jakarta, Indonesia. This MoU is in collaboration with Jakarta Fire & Safety Agency and eight fire and building safety associations. The MoU has been formed to:
- Enhance the building fire safety code/standards in Indonesia
- Develop training content, provide training and certification to building fire safety officers in Indonesia
- Develop and implement a standard enforcement scheme through building fire safety inspection and certification programs in Indonesia
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Anthony Tan, Vice President and Managing Director, UL ASEAN remarked that this agreement marks another exciting milestone in UL’s commitment to Indonesia. He said, “Our partnership with the Jakarta Fire & Rescue Department along with the Fire & Rescue Foundation and backed by all the associations being represented here today will help in creating a safer, more secure and more sustainable Indonesia.”
