While the standard IEC 60601-1-2, 4th Ed does change some of the test values, other changes in the standard place an additional responsibility on the manufacturer. This additional responsibility can lead to delays when submitting to the test lab. The manufacturer needs to understand the additional responsibilities, the impact of the responsibilities and determine the best steps forward to prevent delays in testing. Addressing these new items up front, can ensure the testing is conducted correctly the first time.
