On November 10, 2016, UL and the Seoul National University Hospital (SNUH) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to cooperate on mutually beneficial activities promoting the safe and effective use of medical devices in Korea.
SNUH in 2015 set up a “Medical Device Innovation Center” with the Mission “to contribute to advances in human healthcare by supporting the development of new and useful medical devices” and to promote local R&D for medical devices in Korea. Specific activities included in the MoU relate to developing and contributing to Medical Device Usability and Human Factors Engineering, collaborating on training, and supporting R&D projects and solutions for Market access to the local Medical devices industry.
The signing ceremony was attended by several members of UL and the Seoul National University Hospital.
