On March 10th, UL launched the Lighting Energy Efficiency and Retailer Test Labs in Taiwan. The state-of-the-art laboratory facilities specialize in providing energy efficiency evaluation services for lighting products and a variety of testing services to retailers’ specific requirements. The North American and European markets remain appealing to lighting manufacturers around the world, and our thorough testing capabilities address the growing needs of manufacturers, especially those in Taiwan and Southeast Asia, seeking access to these markets.

The new Lighting Energy Efficiency lab is equipped with integrating sphere and goniophotometer test equipment. This facility builds on UL’s history of expertise and offers a suite of international and regional energy efficiency test programs that can help you get to market quickly. These programs include:

The Retailer Test Lab covers ISTA testing and retailer-required testing including color evaluation, AATCC grey scale, bursting strength, noise and performance.

At the grand opening of these new facilities, UL’s advanced lighting solutions were introduced and an interactive lab tour was arranged to help clients understand the value UL offers to the market. Over 35 guests attended the ceremony, including representatives from The Taiwan Lighting Fixture Export Association (TLFEA), Taiwan Electric Research and Testing Center (TERTEC),The Home Depot, Lowe’s, and manufacturers of components, LED driver, luminaires, lamps and more. Above all, these new labs represent UL’s continued commitment to the lighting industry and the manufacturers and retailers who are working to better serve their customers.
