(Sub) CLAUSE / ANNEX HEADING:
OTHER RELEVANT (Sub) CLAUSES / ANNEXES (as applicable):
DESCRIPTION OF ISSUE:
Clarification of the meaning of the first paragraph of Clause 4.3.6, which reads:
Motors are stalled if this is possible during the use of the apparatus by internal or external influences.
The above clause is intended to cover motors that are located in hazardous AC or DC circuits and can cause a fire or electric shock hazard under fault conditions. Motors supplied by a circuit not exceeding 35 V peak and not generating voltages above this value where the current that may be drawn for more than two minutes at any load is limited to less than 0.2 A are not required to be stalled.
The above is considered a clarification of the requirements.
