DESCRIPTION OF ISSUE:

Can the test methods of the 10° Tip Stability Test and 10° Slide Test be combined into one single test?

APPLICATION GUIDELINE:

Yes. An apparatus shall be tested on a clean, dry, glass covered horizontal surface such that only the supporting feet are in contact with the glass and then tilted in the most unfavorable direction through an angle of 10° and rotated slowly through an angle of 360° about its normal vertical axis.

All doors, drawers, casters, wheels, adjustable feet (levelers) and other appurtenances of the apparatus are positioned in any combination that results in the least stability.

During this test the apparatus shall not overbalance and shall not slide.

RATIONALE:

Simplify the testing to cover both the 10° Tip Stability Test and the 10° Slide Test simultaneously.
