|UL is pleased to announce we are now a NFRC accredited thermal performance simulation laboratory providing thermal simulations of building facades and façade elements such as windows, doors, curtain walls, and other building enclosure products to meet the need of today’s energy- conscious consumers and businesses to evaluate products and building structures for heat loss, heat gain and condensation resistance.
Thermal simulation data allows architects, designers, consultants, code authorities, building owners and consumers the ability to compare windows and doors and identify specific products to meet their needs. This data will also assist manufacturers in gaining ENERGY STAR certified products via NFRC or a Certificate of Compliance to AAMA 507. According to the EPA, more than 1.6 million new homes and 25,000 buildings and plants have earned the ENERGY STAR®.
The ability to offer NFRC accredited thermal performance computer simulation services can help our customers continue the trend toward increased awareness of building energy efficiency by simulating the entire building façade and/or elements of a building such as doors, storefronts, skylights, curtain walls and window walls.
