Energy Efficiency for motors has been on the North American radar for nearly 20 years. Now it’s become a global concern. To help customers, UL has expanded our energy efficiency services to help you satisfy regulators across the globe.

UL has unparalleled accreditations and testing options to help you meet your energy efficiency needs. We can verify that your motors meet IE1, IE2, IE3 and even IE4 efficiency levels, and we can provide test reports or Certificates of Conformance (CoC) to help demonstrate compliance. By applying an Alternative Energy Determination Method (AEDM) to your product line, UL can simplify your testing and inspection requirements.

By working with UL, you will be collaborating with the leader in energy efficiency testing. We were the first third-party Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) company to obtain SASO accreditation for energy efficiency and the first to offer small motor energy efficiency testing for the Department of Energy (DOE) regulations (10 CFR, Part 431).

If you have testing or performance needs beyond safety, UL can help. In addition to offering energy testing, we offer the following services:

  • CB certificates
  • Type certificates/test reports
  • Safety certifications
  • IEC-based insulation system evaluations
  • ATEX and IECex
  • Certificates of Conformance (CoC)
